Hungry Ghost Festival - Office 'Colleague'

A friend of mine, Michelle, related this story to me which happened to her at her workplace. Michelle works in a large logistic company in Klang, Malaysia. As a purchasing executive, she always gets bog down by her workload as there will be plenty of purchasing orders coming in everyday and she needs to deal with customers as well as suppliers. As such, Michelle works overtime after working hours till late night to finish off her work.

During the Chinese 7th lunar month every year, most of Michelle’s colleagues will normally opt to go home earlier than usual. This is because it so happened that older staffs had experienced strange things around the office that goes bump at night particularly during the 7th month and they are definitely not going to stick around to accompany those ‘brothers’. Michelle was aware of the stories but did not experienced any strange happenings and the office was a comfortable place to work in.

One year during the particular 7th month, Michelle was staying back late to finish off her outstanding workload. By 9pm, the last of her colleague, Lee, had left for home. Lee called out to Michelle across the room that he will be going back and jokingly told her not to worry as there are unseen ‘people’ (ghosts) inside the office that will be accompanying her. Michelle chided at the joke and not being so superstitious, she continued with her work.

Michelle was so well engrossed into her work that before she knew it, it was already close to 11pm. She scolded herself for being such a workaholic and sat back on her chair to relax a bit and closed her eyes. As soon as she closes her eyes, she began to hear the sound of someone typing away on a computer keyboard a few cubicles away. Thinking it was someone that might have returned back to the office while she was deeply absorbed in her work; Michelle stood up and glanced around, however there was no one in the office to be seen. She then called out to whoever it was but no one responded and the sound of typing is still clearly heard.

Michelle got up and walked towards the source of where the typing sound came from; then as sudden as the sound started, it stopped. Startled, Michelle begun to feel tense, she felt something was not right and all the stories that her colleagues had told her about the ghost in the office started to run through her head. Michelle quickly walk back to her place and started to pack up to go home.

While packing, Michelle’s phone suddenly rang. She jumped up at the sudden ring of the phone and looked at the caller ID. To her utter shock, she saw that the caller ID was coming from inside the office! Someone was trying to intercom her and the number indicated that it was from her manager’s room. She looked up through the glass panel that separated her manager’s room and her cubicle. The room was all pitched dark. And out of her imagination, Michelle swore that there was a dark figure seen sitting at her manager’s place!

Michelle immediately grabbed her stuff and ran out of the office as fast as she could, behind her she could sensed that the lights in her office flickered away instantly when she ran out. She informed the security officer to shut off all the lights in the office and before the security officer can wish her good night, Michelle had quickly driven away.

After that incident, Michelle did not dare to stay late in the office anymore unless there is someone around to accompany her, she would rather take her work back home even though it is not so convenient. It definitely is better than working the office with an unseen ‘colleague’.

Hungry Ghost Festival - Uninvited Passenger

This happened to me last year during the Chinese Hungry Ghost month in 2008 while I was travelling back to my hometown in Kuantan.

I remember is was a long weekend ahead (Monday off day), hence I decided to head back to Kuantan once I had finished with my work on the Friday so that I can wake up the next morning and meet up with my friends for some breakfast. It was about 11pm when I was driving my Honda City somewhere along the Karak Highway. For those who know this, Karak Highway is famous for is frequently haunting including the appearance of Pontianak and the infamous haunted tunnel where many people had perished.

I was aware of all these haunted ‘hotspots’ but the joy of looking forward to going back to my hometown overcame the feeling of fear of travelling alone and encountering spirits. After all, I thought to myself, I wouldn’t be so lucky today… How wrong was I to think of that!...

My first weird instinct came when I was driving through the Karak Highway tunnel. Suddenly I feel someone’s legs pushing against the back of the driver’s seat on my back, it was the kind of feeling you get when a person with long legs sits behind you and occasionally he will push against the cushion with his knee when adjusting his seating. I looked behind the rear view mirror but there was no one sitting behind me. Of course there is no one! I am travelling alone! What was I thinking?

A minute later, the same thing happen, something pushed against the back of the driver’s seat for a while and released it after a few seconds. It was at that point that I suspect that I had picked up an uninvited ‘stranger’. There was no where I can go now; I am travelling in the middle of a half deserted highway with whoever it was behind me! When the third time I felt the pressure on my back, I felt panicky as I was in a car with an unknown being, who knows what it is going to do next to me?

Out of frustration and fear, I loudly shouted some foul language in Chinese to ask it not to disturb me and all of sudden I saw my car’s door safety lights came on my dashboard display indicating that the right back door was opened. I was shocked as none of the doors where opened and as soon as the warning lights came on, the lights went off.

That was enough for me; I stepped on the accelerator and reached my destination half an hour than scheduled. I am definitely not stopping at the side of the highway to inspect what is behind my seat. The next day I went to the temple to get some amulets and placed it in my car. I related my ordeal to a medium at the temple and he said that I had picked up a lost spirit, the spirit was harmless and all it wanted was a ride to his destination. I almost fainted when I heard that.

Hungry Ghost Festival - The "DO NOTs": What To Avoid

As stated in my previous blog, today (3rd September 2009) marks the 15th day of the Chinese Lunar 7th month and it is also known as ”The Hungry Ghost Day”. On this day, the three realms of Heaven, Hell and the realm of the living are open and all the spiritual beings will be let lose and free to walk in our world today. Therefore, the percentage of bumping into them is going to be higher. Heck! One maybe standing behind you while you are reading this blog! Or even behind me while I am happily posting away!

In this post I am going to share with you some of the “DO NOTs” during this month and especially today! For those that don’t believe in ghost or spirits, please note that precaution is better than cure. You don’t want to mess with them alright.

DO NOT Step On Or Kick Praying Items And Temporary Altars By The Roadside.
During the Chinese lunar 7th month, you will see lots of people praying and offering food and burning materials beside the road. These things are meant to appease for the dead. Be very careful of what you are stepping on and it is best to go around a spot where there are offerings rather then walk through it. How will you feel if someone steps or kicks your food while you are eating or step on his clothes or even money? You would want to beat the S*it out of that guy, right? Same goes for the spirits, they are once human too. If you happen to accidentally stepped on them, apologise right away! If you get them angry, I am not sure what they can do.

DO NOT Stand Under Trees Or Under The Bus Stop During Night Time.
Normally, it is dark and cold under the tree shade and bus stop. Those ‘things’ love these kind of conditions and would normally rest and under this kind of conditions. If you have low spiritual energy on that day, it will follow you back home.

Especially For Ladies: DO NOT Use And Avoid Dark or Black Color Manicure
Ladies, if you love painting your nails, please choose light colour coat for your nails during this period. This is because dead people normally have dark-coloured nails and if you happen to bump into one of them, they might think you are one of them and you are a pretty chic, it may follow you back home.

DO NOT Place Your Baby Or Kid On The Altar/Offering Table When Visiting Or Praying To The Hungry Ghosts.
There was a case where a mother took her baby to a hungry ghost offering event, the mother suddenly dropped something while she was carrying her baby and place the baby temporarily on the offering altar while she picked up her stuff. After she got up, the baby had died and turned black. It was said that the King of Ghost thought that it was an offering for him and “ate” the baby.

DO NOT Sit On the Front Row of Any Open Chinese Operas Or Karaokes
During this month long festival, you will see that there would be lots of open Chinese opera shows and karaoke singing on makeshift stages. These shows are mainly entertainment for the stray ghosts and lost souls, and normally the front few rows of seats are reserved for the VIPs (spirits). Do not sit at any front row and it is better to stand and watch rather than seated. You will definitely feel annoyed when someone comes to ask your seat number when you are watching a movie in a cinema, right? Moreover, sit on you!

DO NOT Speed And Be Extra Careful On The Road While Driving
There is always a high rate of road accident fatalities during the first day of the Chinese 7th lunar month in Kuala Lumpur. You may argue that it is due to the recklessness of the drivers, but why does the 1st day of the 7th month always have more accidents? Why not the day before or week before? There would normally be more overcast weather and frequent rain showers during this month.

DO NOT Hang Your Laundry Outside After Sunset
It is know that the spirits will wear your clothes so when you bring it in, you will be sharing your clothes with them.

DO NOT Go Swimming Or Hang Out Late At Night
The water spirits had been released and they will roam in any places with water in it. Hence, it is wise not to go swimming during this 7th month. In addition to this, it is advisable not to roam the streets or go out partying till the wee hours of the morning, ghosts are especially more active during the night and you will definitely not want to bump into any of them, or step on their offerings when you are half drunk...

Well, here is my list of what to be careful of and what “DO NOT” to beware of during the hungry ghost month! I would definitely be staying at home for the whole of the 7th month which will last until the 18th September 2009.

Hungry Ghost Festival - Ghost In The Kitchen

This was told to me by my uncle, Rex, during his younger days in the village back in Penang. Uncle Rex stayed in a big wooden village house with 3 other families living in the same house.

During one year on a day in the Hungry Ghost Month (7th month of the Chinese lunar calendar), uncle Rex experienced something that he will not forget for the rest of his life.

It was a hot and humid night and after helping out with some food offerings for the hungry ghosts outside the house, all the family members went to bed. On that night, uncle Rex could not fall asleep. As he was rolling around on his bed, he suddenly heard some weird noises coming out from the kitchen. Uncle Rex’s room was located such that it was next to the kitchen and the room was shared together with his siblings.

The noises from the kitchen sounds like someone was scavenging or looking for something. Out of curiosity, uncle Rex thought it was one of the family members trying to satisfy his/her hunger and he cheekily thought that since he could not sleep, he might as well play some pranks on whoever it was and scare the living daylights out of that person.

Trying not to wake his siblings up, Uncle Rex quietly opened his bedroom door and peered into the kitchen. On the far end of the kitchen, he saw a dark figure fumbling on some food and eating something. Carefully, uncle Rex got down on the floor and crawled commando-style towards the person, chuckling to himself that this is definitely going to be an unforgettable and amusing moment.

As he got closer to the dining table, where he was planning to hide under before his "attack", uncle Rex smelled a foul stench; it was something like rotting flesh. Thinking it was some leftover food from the nearby dustbin; he did not take heed and continue his commando crawl beneath the dining table.

Then, as uncle Rex was about to jump out to scare the hell out of whomever it was, his blood froze. From under the dining table, uncle Rex was able to see the feet of this 'person'. His, or IT'S feet, does not resembles that of a human’s and it looks something like horse hooves.

Uncle Rex was so terrified with what he saw and while panicking, he banged his head hardly on the bottom of the dining table and quickly darted out from beneath the dining table. He glanced towards the figure and saw that the creature had long hair but no face! He screamed in horror and the being suddenly disappeared.

All the family members woke up to the commotion caused by uncle Rex. They scolded him for trying to wake up the whole neighbourhood and for causing a mess in the kitchen. Poor uncle Rex tried to explain what he saw but was scolded even more for creating nonsensical stories to frighten others.

However, one unexplainable rationale was there was a plate of raw chicken meat placed on the kitchen counter that had been prepared to be cooked tomorrow to be offered to the hungry ghosts. Half of the prepared raw meat had been missing and some portion of the meat is strewn on the floor.

Was the figure that uncle Rex saw a hungry ghost looking for food? Perhaps it couldn’t wait for the food to be cooked and served...

Hungry Ghost Festival - The Origins

The 7th lunar month of the Chinese calendar is here! For those who are superstitious it will mean no going out at night, no swimming during this particular month period, and also no disrespect for the dead! Throughout this month, I will share encounters related to me by friends, relatives and even experiences from my own self on strange encounters with the other world during the 7th month. On today’s issue, I will blog about the origins of the Hungry Ghosts Festival.

In Chinese tradition, this month marks an important month as it the month of the Hungry Ghosts Festival; also known as Zhong Yuan Jie or simply Gwei Jie. The Chinese believes that during the whole of the 7th month, all spirits are free to roam the earth and visit their living relatives or to seek revenge on those who had done harm to them for the whole month. On the fifteenth day of the seventh month in the lunar calendar is called the Ghost Day. On this day, the three realms of Heaven, Hell and the realm of the living are open and the Chinese would perform rituals to change and forgive the sufferings of the deceased. This year’s 15th day of the 7th month falls on the 3rd September 2009.

How did the Hungry Ghost Festival come about? The Chinese legend has it that a long time ago, there lived a young man, Mu Lian and his widowed mother. His mother was a wicked woman. She often turned away beggars who came to her door asking for food. She liked to jeer at poverty stricken and under privileged people. In reality, the only person she cared about was herself.

Mu Lian, on the other hand, was a kind soul. He was a gentle person and always willing to help anybody who was in need. One day he decided to become a monk and this angered his mother. She scolded at him for being such a useless son; she wanted him to go out and work to earn more money for her as wealth and materialistic things meant more to her than anything else.

She could not dissuade her son and Mu Lian went on to carry out his spiritual training. When Mu Lian was away, his wicked mother decided to play a trick on the monks just to get back at them for taking away her son. As it is a custom to offer only vegetarian food to the monks, Mu Lian’s mother thought that it was nonsensical that these monks did not eat meat, so one day she offered some food to some monks and slipped in some non-vegetarian items.

The wicked woman was punished immediately and was sent to the depths of hell. Mu Lian came back from his spiritual training and noted that his mother had passed on. He meditated and saw that his mother was suffering in pain and hunger in the deepest part of hell. Mu Lian set out and ventured deep into the bowels of hell and soon he came upon his mother and he saw that she was sitting on a bed of very sharp pointy stakes and was holding on to a basin of blood.

Mu Lian tried feeding her some food but the food would either turn into fire or blood. It was hopeless: he couldn’t do anything for her so he left. He returned home and started to pray for forgiveness and performing spiritual cleaning at temples and holy places. After years of performing this spiritual training, Mu Lian was able to rescue his mum from the deepest hell. On the Chinese lunar 15th day, 7th month marked the day he was able to save his mother from hell. His mother was no longer a hungry ghost.

Buddha heard about Mu Lian’s prayers and was touched by his compassion. Thus Buddha decreed that once a year, the gates of hell will be opened so that the lost souls will be able to roam the earth and be fed. This is why every year on the 15th day of the 7th month in the lunar calendar; the Chinese celebrates the festival of the hungry ghost.

Food and drinks will be offered at night outside the gates of houses. This is so that the ghosts do not enter their houses and cause trouble. Lanterns are lit to help guide the ghosts to the feasts set out for them. Special paper money is also burned as offerings to these ghosts so that they can take it back to hell and spend it there. To ensure that these souls stay out of trouble; entertainment are set up including Chinese operas performing on outdoor stages and other activities.

However, be forewarned that there are also revengeful spirits that are back on earth to seek revenge on those who had caused their death...

Haunted Hotel Room

This just happened last week to my colleague while we were in Johor Bahru (South of Malaysia). This was related to me by one of my colleague, KP.

Our job scope normally requires us to travel to Johor Bahru (JB) on a monthly basis to carry out audits. We would normally put up in a particular 4-star hotel close to the city for 2 nights to carry out our job. For the past 1 year of travelling together, nothing particularly strange or eerie happened while we stayed there and this comfortable hotel was NOT known to be haunted as well. However, it was not meant to be for my colleague that ill-fated night.

Normally, there are 4 of us travelling to JB each month, but coincidentally one of my colleagues could not make it for this trip due to personal matters, so that left the 3 of us travelling to JB. We checked in the hotel on the 1st day around 6pm after a tiring day’s work and I shared a room with my regular colleague while KP stayed alone in the adjoining hotel room. Both our hotel rooms were located next to each other and can be accessed through a door in the middle. I still remember the room number clearly: KP was staying alone in 607 and we were in 609.

After the 2nd day’s work and a yummy dinner, we went back to the hotel to rest and watch TV. Soon everyone was tired and decided to call it a day. KP, staying in the other room, closed the connecting door to our room and switched off his room’s lights to sleep. Halfway through his sleep, in a state of semi-consciousness, KP felt a cool wind blowing across his face, he did not move and after a few minutes it happened again. KP describe the wind as something similar to the air breeze felt when a passing car cruise pass you while you are waiting to cross the road.

KP at once knew that something is not right as he had shut the air condition down to ‘Low’ and all the windows in the hotel rooms are shut tight. There is no way a chilly wind can enter the room from outside. Wide awake by now, KP suddenly heard the sound of something flapping and once again the cool wind was felt right across his face. The flapping sound stopped somewhere near the coffee table close to the window and ended with a sudden ‘Thump!’. That was enough to scare the wits out of KP, he turn on the lights immediately and glance towards the coffee table, but there is nothing on the floor and no sign of anything that had fallen.

KP knocked on the adjoining door to our room immediately, I was still awake at that time and he requested to sleep in our room for the night. I can sense in his pale and shocked face that something was not right and we joined both the beds to make it a queen size bed so that KP can sleep. Nothing happened after that in our room for the rest of the night.

The next morning when KP awoke and went back to his room, he was shocked to see the bed sheet and blanket of the bed next to his (which was left vacant since he was occupying only one bed) was being pulled down and messed up as if someone had been sleeping on it the whole night. My roommate and I also saw the condition of the bed and without saying a word; we packed up immediately and left the room..... Was there an existing tenant already staying in the room? Did the hotel gave us a haunted room? I shiver when I think about the incident now...

Haunted EBay Painting

I just came across this interesting yet eerie and scary article regarding a haunted painting being sold on eBay.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE REPORTED DISTURBING REACTIONS UPON VIEWING THESE PHOTOS SO BE FOREWARNED.

‘The Hands Resist Him’, also known as the Haunted eBay Painting, is a painting created by Californian artist Bill Stoneham in 1972.

It depicts a young boy and female doll standing in front of a glass paneled door against which many hands are pressed. According to the artist, the boy is based on a photograph of himself aged 5, the doorway is a representation of the dividing line between the waking world and the world of dreams and possibilities, and the doll is a guide who will escort the boy through it. The hands themselves represent alternate lives or possibilities.

The painting was first displayed in a Los Angeles gallery during the early 1970s. It was then purchased by actor John Marley (The Godfather). At some point in time after Marley's death, the painting was said to have come into the possession of a Californian couple, after being found on the site of an old brewery.

It became the subject of an urban legend in February 2000, when it was posted for sale on eBay along with an elaborate back-story implying that it was haunted. This was the original eBay ad posted by the seller:

HAUNTED PAINTING ----- WARNING AND DISCLAIMER

WHEN WE RECEIVED THIS PAINTING, WE THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY GOOD ART. A “PICKER” HAD FOUND IT ABANDONNED BEHIND AN OLD BREWERY. AT THE TIME WE WONDERED A LITLLE WHY A SEEMINGLY PERFECTLY FINE PAINTING WOULD BE DISCARDED LIKE THAT. (TODAY WE DON'T!!!). ONE MORNING OUR 4 AND 1/2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER CLAIMED, THAT THE CHILDREN IN THE PICTURE WERE FIGHTING, AND COMING INTO THE ROOM DURING THE NIGHT. NOW, I DON'T BELIEVE IN UFOs OR ELVIS BEING ALIVE, BUT MY HUSBAND WAS ALARMED. TO MY AMUSEMENT HE SET UP A MOTION TRIGGERED CAMERA FOR THE NIGHTS. AFTER THREE NIGHTS THERE WERE PICTURES.THE LAST TWO PICTURES SHOWN ARE FROM THAT 'STAKEOUT'. AFTER SEEING THE BOY SEEMINGLY EXITING THE PAINTING UNDER THREAT, WE DECIDED, THE PAINTING HAS TO GO.PLEASE JUDGE FOR YOURSELF.

--- BEFORE YOU DO, PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWIND WARNING AND DISCLAIMER. ----WARNING: DO NOT BID ON THIS PAINTING IF YOU ARE SUCCEPTIBLE TO STRESS RELATED DISEASE, FAINT OF HEART OR ARE UNFAMILIAR WITH SUPERNATURAL EVENTS. BY BIDDING ON THIS PAINTING, YOU AGREE TO RELEASE THE OWNERS OF ALL LIABILITY IN RELATION TO THE SALE OR ANY EVENTS HAPPENING AFTER THE SALE THAT MIGHT BE CONTRIBUTED TO THIS PAINTING. THIS PAINTING MAY OR MAY NOT POSSESS SUPERNATURAL POWERS, THAT COULD IMPACT OR CHANGE YOUR LIFE. HOWEVER, BY BIDDING YOU AGREE TO EXCLUSIVELY BID ON THE VALUE OF THE ARTWORK, WITH DISREGARD TO THE LAST TWO PHOTOS FEATURED IN THIS AUCTION, AND HOLD THE OWNERS HARMLESS IN REGARD TO THEM AND THEIR IMPACT, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. ------------ NOW THAT WE GOT THIS OUT OF THE WAY, ONE QUESTION TO YOU EBAYERS. WE WANT OUR HOUSE TO BE BLESSED AFTER THE PAINTING IS GONE, DOES ANYBODY KNOW, WHO IS QUALIFIED TO DO THAT?

(Right picture: Boy seemingly trying to exit the painting)

THE SIZE OF THE PAINTING IS 24 BY 36 INCHES, SO IT IS RATHER LARGE. AS I HAVE HAD SEVERAL QUESTIONS, HERE THE FOLLOWING ANSWERS. THERE WAS NO ODOR LEFT BEHIND IN THE ROOM. THERE WERE NO VOICES, OR THE SMELL OF GUNPOWDER, NO FOODPRINTS OR STRANGE FLUIDS ON THE WALL. TO DETER QUESTIONS IN THIS DIRECTION, THERE ARE NO GHOSTS IN THIS WORLD, NO SUPERNATURAL POWERS, THIS IS JUST A PAINTING, AND MOST THESE THINGS HAVE AN EXPLANATION, IN THIS CASE PROBABLY A FLUKE LIGHT EFFECT. I ENCOURAGE YOU TO BID ON THE ARTWORK, AND CONSIDER THE LAST TWO PHOTOGRAPHS AS PURE ENTERTAINMENT, AND PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THEM INTO CONSIDERATION, WHEN BIDDING. AS WE THINK IT IS A GOOD IDEA TO BLESS ANY HOUSE, WE STILL WELCOME INPUT INTO THAT PROCEDURE.

This auction is nearing the end. I want to thank the more than 13,000 people that took the time to look at this image on ebay. I appreciate the more than 30 suggestions that I received regarding blessing the house, exorcising and cleansing. 7 emails reported strange or irregular events taking place, when viewing this image. And I will relay two suggestions made by the senders. First not to use this image as the background on the screen, and second not to display this image around juveniles or children. Last not least, thanks for appreciating the art as well.
_________________________________________________________

News of the listing was quickly spread by internet users. Some people claimed that simply viewing the photos of the painting made them feel ill or have unpleasant experiences. Eventually, the auction page was viewed over 30,000 times.

After an initial bid of $199, the painting eventually received 30 bids and sold for $1,025.00. The buyer, Perception Gallery in Michigan eventually contacted Bill Stoneham and related the unusual story of its auction on eBay and their acquisition of it. He reported being quite surprised by all the stories and strange interpretations of the images in the painting. According to the artist, the object presumed by the eBay sellers to be a gun is actually nothing more than a dry cell battery and a tangle of wires.

Stoneham recalls that both the owner of the gallery in which the painting was first displayed and the art critic who reviewed it, died within one year of coming into contact with the painting.

Puchong Haunted Apartment

During my bachelorette days, I used to move around and stay in different places as my job required me to be relocated to other areas after a project had been completed. However, I would never have thought that I had been staying in a haunted apartment for almost 2 years...

I moved into the apartment in Bandar Puteri Puchong behind Giant back in 2005. There were 4 of us sharing the rented apartment. I took the middle room and Jen was in the smallest room while the master bedroom was occupied by Anne and her boyfriend, Andy.

For the first few months after moving in, nothing much happened except that during the time when Jen was busy unpacking when she had just newly moved into the apartment, she heard a man called out ‘Woooi!’ from the living room, upon checking there wasn’t anyone in the apartment at that time as all of us had gone out to work. Occasionally things will go missing like car keys, thumb drives, TV remote controls and will reappear after 1 or 2 days, we thought that is was due to our carelessness and did not care much about it.

Then things started to get creepier in the apartment after slightly more than one year of staying there. One particular creepy incident happened during a dinner gathering of friends at our apartment. After a delicious dinner, all of us were having an enjoyable time chit chatting and drinking beer in the living room when I suggested that we play some card games. Knowing that there is a pack of cards in Jen’s room, I went in to get it. When I entered Jen’s room, I saw Jen lying under the blanket and sleeping in a side position such that she faces the wall, I asked her if she was alright and if she would like to join us for a game of cards. Jen did not response and continued sleeping. Thinking that she might have a little too many alcoholic drinks, I did not bother to disturb her and went back to the living room. As I was dealing out the cards, I joking told my friends that Jen was a lousy drinker and had knock off already, everyone stared at me in disbelief and I almost fainted when Jen walked out from the kitchen holding a Carlsberg. I managed to control my emotions as I did not want to frighten them especially Jen and it might be me hallucinating due to having too much to drink, but I was dead sure that there was someone lying on Jen's bed at that time I walked in.

That was not the end of it. Anne who was staying at the master bedroom had the worst experience. One night, when Anne and Andy were fast asleep, Anne experienced a presence as if someone’s body was pressing down on her. Her whole body was immobilized and nothing came out of her mouth when she tried to scream. Worst, Anne feel take something was being inserted into her body, it was not painful but there was a strange feeling. The presence then left and she cried out loud, Andy was shocked to see his girlfriend crying and she related the event to him.

We accompanied Anne to see a Chinese medium the very next day and to our horror, the medium claims that there is a family of 3 ghosts staying in the apartment: a man with a huge tummy, a lady and a small kid. The medium claims it was the man who had spiritually ‘raped’ Anne as she was having low spiritual energy at that time (menstruation period). Then I figure out something: The figure I had seen in Jen’s room must be the ghost of the lady and it must be the ghost child that had been responsible for hiding our personal belongings... A strong chill went down my spine when I thought of it...

The medium gave us something to get rid of the spirits but we never really made use of it as we moved out of the apartment the very same week. We terminated our tenant agreement with the owner citing other reasons; the owner was obviously startled by all of us moving out at once but we did not disclose to him that his apartment was haunted. Frankly we had enough it, as much as we had many great and happy memories, we will never forget those incidents and still talk about it till this day.

The Pontianak

This is a spooky article taken from 'The Star' a local Malaysian newspaper today.

Security guard ‘slapped’ by ghosts at housing area

Monday July 27, 2009

A security guard was reported to have been slapped by ghosts in Port Dickson. It said S. Albert 32, was making his rounds of bungalow houses in Taman Indah Mas at about 5.30am on Friday when he heard noises coming from a vacant unit.

He shone his torchlight through the window and was shocked to see mysterious white figure with red eyes and long hair. Albert ran to the guards control room and informs his colleague who told him that his face had scratch marks and was bleeding.

Residents, who got wind of the incident, gathered batons and sticks to check the empty bungalow but found nothing suspicious. Policemen later broke the locks to enter the bungalow and found nothing unusual.

The crowd was left stunned when the scratch marks on Albert’s face disappeared the moment he washed it with water.

________________________________________________________

The sighting of the mysterious figure does bear resemblance to the previous article I posted on the 9th July 2009 ‘Don’t Come In My Place’, whereby construction workers had seen a mysterious being with blood shot eyes and sharp teeth.

This cunning and sinister creature is commonly known to many as the Pontianak/Kuntilanak. Here are some details of the Pontianak:

The Pontianak, Kuntilanak, Matianak or "Boentianak" (as known in Indonesia, Short form: Kunti) is a type of vampire in Malay folklore. Pontianak are women who died during childbirth and became undead, seeking revenge and terrorizing villages.

Pontianak usually announces its presence through baby cries or usually disguising itself as a beautiful young lady to attract its victim (usually male). Its presence sometimes can be detected by a nice floral fragrance of the ‘kemboja’ (a type of flower) followed by an awful stench afterwards. The cries of a Pontianak are very tricky. The Malays believe that if the cry is soft means that the Pontianak is near and if it is loud then it must be far.

Pontianak kills its victims by digging into their stomachs with its sharp fingernails and devouring their organs. In some cases where the Pontianak desires revenge against a male individual, it rips out the sex organs with its hands. It is believed that Pontianaks locate prey by sniffing out clothes left outside to dry. For this reason, some Malays refuse to leave any object of clothing outside.

People believe that having a sharp object like a nail helps them fend off potential attacks by Pontianak, the nail being used to plunge a hole at the back of the Pontianak's neck. It is believed that when a nail is plunged into the back of a Pontianak's neck, she will turn into a beautiful woman, until the nail is pulled off again. The Indonesian twist on this is plunging the nail into the apex of the head of the Kuntilanak.

Pontianak is associated with banana trees, and its spirit is said to reside in them during the day.

Hence, in any case you do experience any of the above symptoms indicating the presence of a Pontianak nearby, you can either choose to take a nail and drive it into the hole at the back of its head (if you happen to have a nail or if you can manage to flip it over while it is furiously ripping out your organs), or you can choose to run the Hell away for your life!

Grandma's Third Eye

Before my girlfriend’s grandma passed away, my girlfriend and her mum was always a victim of regular nagging from her grandma. Mind you, it was not the normal kind of complaints that you normally received from the elders; it was the kind that you could do nothing about.

On several particular occasions, grandma would scold my girlfriend or her mum out of the blue for not letting visiting ‘guests’ into the house when they are watching TV in the living room. She would comment that they are very unkind and cruel to those 'poor people' as they had been standing outside the door for quite sometime as if they are waiting to be invited in. Upon checking the main entrance and drive way, there wasn’t a single soul to be seen. This occurs especially during rainy or cloudy days when the surroundings are gloomy and dark. Poor girlfriend and her mum will be scolded for being rude to the ‘guests’ and they will have to draw grandma’s attention away from the door.

I remember one particular scary event when I was at my girlfriend’s house visiting; grandma was inside her room all by herself when suddenly we heard her screaming and yelling angrily at someone. Initially, we thought that she was shouting at the dog next door for its constant barking. When we went up to check on her, she angrily scolded us for letting our guest wander senselessly into her private room; she demanded that we bring our friend back down to the living room as she had wanted to take a nap. When we tried to argue there were no one in the room; grandma then replied: ‘Then who is that lady dress in white sitting on my dressing table combing her hair?’... That incident really sends shivers down my spine. We managed to get her out of the room as fast as possible and bringing her to the dining room to have some snacks.

This was just some of the experience that was encountered. Grandma had since passed away several years ago. Before her passing, her third eye ability had enhanced and sometimes she could see her friends who had already passed away standing at her bedroom’s doorway. At times, she would cry out suddenly and demand the uninvited ‘guest’ to leave and not to disturb her. My girlfriend’s mum had consulted in a few mediums and temple but none had managed to ‘close’ grandma’s third eye.

I personally think that when a person is about to leave the mortal world, he/she will be able to see people from the other side as they are those who are waiting to guide you there. I often do wonder if my girlfriend’s grandma is safely and happily settled on the other side or does she still visits the house she previously stayed in wanting to be part of it again...

Devil's Portrait

NOTE: Picture attached below NOT the actual portrait!

This is an experience told by my mum’s friend (Mdm. Tan) to my mum. After hearing this story, I would prefer not to choose a room with a human portrait on the wall.

This happened a few years back when Mdm. Tan went on vacation with her husband to China. Both of them went on a tour to visit the city of Beijing. The first day after they had arrived in China, they went to visit a few places like TianAnMen Square, Forbidden City etc. and it was not until nightfall did they returned exhausted to their hotel room.

Mdm. Tan was lying on her hotel bed waiting for her turn to use the bathroom as her husband is still inside the shower. Relaxingly, she gazed around the small but cozy hotel room and noted a portrait of a beautiful girl hanging opposite the bed. If you can imagine the position, the portrait is hanging on the wall opposite the foot of the bed so when you are lying down the portrait is facing you. The portrait portrays a beautiful Chinese girl dressed in one of those ancient traditional Chinese dress stroking her long hair which is flowing over the right shoulder and her face slightly tilted to one side.

As Mdm. Tan was lying there gazing and pondering on the beautiful ethnic feature of the girl, that was when it happened. As her eyes lay fixed to the girl’s face, the portrait suddenly changes. What was a beautiful girl slowly transformed into a hideous monstrous being, Mdm. Tan described the creature having a scaly, rough skin, long tongue and fierce, piercing eyes… Slowly the creature from hell transcended from the picture on the wall and creep towards her. Mdm. Tan tried to close her eyes but as much as she struggled, her eyes remain affixed on the creature; her body was frozen and there were no sound when she tried to scream, it felt like everything had stood still. Panicking, Mdm. Tan started to recite some powerful Buddhist mantras, it was then that the beast retreated and slowly transform back into the portrait of the beautiful girl.

After the horrifying experience, Mdm. Tan got up and banged on the bathroom door, her husband who was half way through enjoying his hot bath was startled to see his wife so horrified and quickly requested the hotel reception to change their room WITHOUT a human portrait.

Mdm. Tan still gets goose bumps whenever she thinks about her encounter and to date she dare not put up any artistic portraits of human beings in her house besides those of her family members.

Be careful if you happened to check into a hotel room with a face portrait of a person; don’t stare too hard into the face, as the face you are staring at might be the Devil’s...

Don't Come In My Place

Back in 1998, when I was still a trainee engineer in one of the construction company based in Subang, I was assigned to an apartment project in Kota Damansara.

During the construction of the main building, I still remember there is a particular unit where there will be some strange 'disturbances'. This includes loud banging on the concrete wall, there were a few incidents when we heard doors slamming only from inside that particular unit when there is no strong wind; window panels being broken inside the unit despite being securely locked. It was so eerie that no workers, not even the Indonesians, who are normally the notorious and bold workers, would dare wonder into that unit alone.

Scary experiences from the workers during the construction stages, the most popular one being, during some particular day; whenever any worker passes by to do housekeeping work inside or around the unit, they claimed to see a figure of a pregnant woman sitting in one corner of the room. She will look up to glance into the worker’s eyes and vanished into thin air (some says she will jump out the window), some workers claimed that she have blood shot eyes and sharp teeth, resembling the ‘pontianak’.

Bomohs from different races and religion were summoned to assist in cleansing and to put the spirits at ease but eventually most of the practitioner gave up and concluded that the unit had to be vacated and cannot be sold out or rented out. The building developer of course, being only the profit maker and only looking to make money, gave a deaf ear and sold the unit out to an unknown buyer despite several advices from us not to do so.

When the completed unit was first handed over to the owner, the owners placed furniture and installed general fittings into the unit before they can move in to stay. After the next few days, they will find out that some furniture had been thrown around and damaged; the installed electrical fittings and wires had been ripped out of their sockets. They rearranged and reinstalled everything back but still experienced the same phenomenon the next few days. Thinking that it could be a sabotage, the owners who had already lost a lot of money refurbishing, complained to the developers. The developers assure them by placing security guards and surveillance cameras to monitor the unit. However, the guards either reported that nothing happened in the unit or had some sickness for strange reasons. CCTVs often experienced blackouts for no reason. Of course, the owners and developers did try to give some offerings and did some prayers; however it is still the same. Finally, the frustrated owner decided to just leave things as they were and shifted to another vacant unit after the developer offered them another one, nothing had happened to them since.

I had resigned from the company since then, but I heard from the current building maintenance manager that the developer had tried to rent out the unit but no tenants could tolerate the eerie disturbances and many had moved in and out; this haunted unit had become so widely known for its notorious and frightening hauntings that no one had dared to rent from the developer anymore and it had been left empty since then. Occupants neighboring the haunted unit sometimes could hear eerie, shrieking laughing and at some times wailing noises coming from the unit. How true it is, you will never know until you spend a night in the unit...

Gunung Stong's Residents

Back in 2002, I joined a mountain climbing expedition up Gunung Stong, Kelantan with 2 others friends (Zack & Lee) together with an experience local guide. Gunung Stong, for those who love mountain trekking and with the ‘third’ eye ability, will know that this particular mountain is infamously known as an asylum for ghosts and spirits, with regular sightings reported by many hikers. Prior to my virgin climb up Stong, I had not heard of any stories about the ghost or spirits that exists there.

After our continuous and energy-sapping hike up, we arrived at Baha camp site near the Stong Waterfalls to put up for a night before continuing up Gunung Stong the following day. Nearby the camp was a pool called Kolam Tuan Puteri (Princess Pool). Instinctively I got down to my shorts and jumped in to enjoy a refreshing dip. Zack & Lee joined me shortly afterwards.

We were having an enjoyable time splashing each other and fooling around until suddenly, that is when I saw it.

It was white apparition standing near the edge of the pool. I seems like it was observing and staring at us. I called out to Zack & Lee and pointed at it. Instantly, Zack hit my hand and scolded ‘Don’t point!’ At that instant, I felt a bit feverish and the apparition seemed to have disappeared. Zack & Lee feared that we might offend it as we were making a lot of noises and invading its territory.

Not feeling very comfortable, we decided to make my way back to camp, it was then I could see more and more of them all over the place!... They were ghostly apparitions, around 5-6 of them… They do not have a scary monstrous faces, but they merely appeared in a hollow, murky image. Some stood behind trees and some on the branches. There were green & white apparitions, the green ones looked more frightening than the white ones. A flowery jasmine-like scent floated in the air all of a sudden.

Even when I returned with Zack, Lee and, our guide back to our camp, the yun hei (people’s energy) was not enough; ‘they’ were still lurking around. I quickly went into the tent, dried myself up, got into my sleeping bag and zip up and hide. Even when I heard someone outside asking me whether I was OK, I kept quiet as I fear that it may not have been my friend.

The next morning I felt better, but I did not talked too much about the apparitions until we had completed our climb and returned back to base. It was then I told our guide what I saw and smelled, our guide, who turns out to be a part-time medium explained that the Stong area had many spooky sightings because businessmen use bomohs to rear spirits and the area was a kind of “storehouse” for those spirits. He personally had seen several of them almost every time he went up the mountain and had gotten used to it. This explains why he only switched on his torch occasionally during the previous day's night fall as he said “If somebody comes to your house, would you be happy if he constantly shone a light everywhere?”

So be more respectful when you do trek in jungles or go hiking up mountains. However, if you believe in spirits, they can probably get to you anywhere, anytime, not just only in the jungles.

Granted Wish From Mulu

This is a true story told to us by a tour guide (James) about 10 years back when we went on a family outing to Mulu National Park near Miri, Sarawak. Before that, my parents had already read of the tragic story in a particular Chinese newspaper, but the story was told in more detail by James who was, at that time, the tour guide for that particular fated group of people. I had tried searching for related news on the InterNet but couldn’t find any stories.

A group of around 15 chinese friends and relatives had gone on an adventurous trip to Mulu National Park, Sarawak which is one of the largest tropical rainforest national parks on Borneo Island. The 1st day started with all of them in high spirits; after all it was supposed to be a relaxing nature trip for them. James had earlier warned them during a pre-briefing to keep their voices down to a minimum as it may offend jungle spirits; however being non superstitious, the group who were close friends tend to make fun of each other and tell dirty jokes, hence frequently howling out in laughter and made funny noises as they enjoy a wonderful time.

On the 2nd day, James brought the group for a jungle trekking expedition. The group was amazed at the beauty of the nature rainforest and gentle flowing streams close by as they track along a relaxing trail. Suddenly out of the blue, someone exclaim 'WOW! What a beautiful place this is, how I wish I can stay here forever.’ A few friends quickly supported the statement and some even said that they wish to stay in this peaceful place everlastingly etc. James knew this as they also jokingly asked him if he had any houses for them to stay. The enjoyable day turn into night and soon it was dinner and time for James to brief the group on the next day’s activities. During the briefing, James had mysteriously sensed that the group was not as attentive and as excited as they had been the previous day; dirty jokes and humorous stories were missing. James thought it might had been the long day that they had trekking in the jungle.

On the 3rd and final day of the trip, James brought the group for scenary picnic trip at a pond beneath a waterfall. On the way there, the group was eerily quiet; it was a big contrast to the bubbly and noisy group the previous day. James brush of a weird feeling thinking they must have been worn-out from the 2 previous days activities. Upon reaching the edge of the crystal clear pond beside the waterfall, the group unpacked and had some food to eat while enjoy the scene. All of a sudden, James heard a snapping sound from the trees above, he looked up and horrifically saw a large tree crashing down upon them. There was literally no time to react; James quickly pushed a lady aside into the pond beside him and jump into the pond himself. The tree had narrowly missed him.

The whole event happened too fast; James had feared the worst. The fallen tree, measuring around 2 meters in diameter and several meters height had killed 6 people and critically injured a few other members. The scene was chaotic and gory, there were blood splatter everywhere; James saw a head being completely crushed by the tree with its brain spluttering out like a squash tomato, a lifeless torso was held down by the heavy tree, blood was everywhere, people were screaming in horror. A helicopter was instantly called in to transport the injured and the mentally shocked to the nearest hospital for treatment. Newspaper reports had held back many details of the incident.

Till today, no one knows exactly what happens. There were no lightning that had caused the tree to fall, no tree cutting are allowed in the rainforest. Incidentally, James remembered the few dead members... they were those who had remarked / joked that they wanted to stay in the beautiful rainforest forever. Why did the few dead people behaved strangely the day before, did they know that their death is near and imminent? Did they sensed something coming for them? James believed that it was jungle spirits who had ‘granted their request' by keeping their soul forever in the jungle. James happened to bring us to the place of the incident during our visit 1 year after it happened. Standing at the edge of pond beneath the waterfall, it is difficult to imagined that such a sinister event had happened in a place so serene, beautiful and calm...

Mysterious Figure

This is a personal story during my younger days in Brunei Darussalam, till today I still can picture the grotesque image in my head.

I used to study in a chinese school back in the early to mid 1990s. Those days were some of the most memorable days of my life. My friends and I were always on the hunt for rubber seeds, fighting spiders and even looking for 'jewels'... We would go into a small jungle clearing behind our school that was rumour to be an old burial ground for those who died during the Japanese Occupation and those 'jewels' are being buried there, although we never did find anything. It was during one of these searches that ended our hobbies of being treasure hunters.

On one particular humid afternoon after lunch, me and two of my best friends, Jim & Gary, decided to go hunting behind our school. My purpose was to collect rubber seeds to play with the other kids in school as sometimes we would compete with each other to see who has the strongest seeds. Jim & Gary's mission 'impossible' was to look for those 'jewels'.

While on the way into the jungle clearing which we are ever so familiar with, I begin focusing on ripe rubber seeds that had fallen onto the ground, if any of you knows about collecting rubber seeds, when the seeds are ripe, you will hear a small explosive sound when the rubber seed covering burst open releasing the seeds. Being a choosy rubber seed picker, I was selecting those good rubber seeds, don't ask me how I know that the seeds are good, I just know. Jim & Gary are ahead of me making their way towards the clearing. They were roughly just 50m ahead.

All of sudden, while I was busy filling my pockets with rubber seeds, I heard a loud snap on my right above me, it was not like the normal rubber seed covering bursting open kind of sound, it was more like a branch being broken. Naturally, I turn my gaze toward the direction of the sound. To my horror, I saw a dark figure perched on top of the tree branch staring at me. There were those dark red, evil eyes and slightly blurred figure, the head was tilted towards one side. It wasn't laughing nor crying, just staring...This was enough to send instant shivers down my spine and my hairs were all standing at their ends. I scream at it and called out for Jim & Gary... Now comes the bizarre part...

Jim came running towards my direction but Gary was nowhere to be seen. I pointed at the direction of the figure and I don't know if Jim saw it, but sensing the fear in my panicky face was enough to scare the crap out of him. But where is Gary? We ran off in search of Gary, not knowing if the Thing was following behind us. We finally found Gary squatting down against a tree clutching his right hand a few metres down the path. We quickly grab him and made it out of the jungle clearing as fast as we could.

Back at school, Gary was in a daze. We queried him where he was when we called out to him and what was wrong with his arm. Gary claimed that he heard nothing and instead called back to us during the time he got 'bitten'. We inspected his arm and to our horror we saw 2 bite holes on his arm about 1 inch in separation, it was like a dracula bite. His arm was swollen but not bleeding. Jim and I looked at each other with fear in our eyes and that was my confirmation that Jim had saw the evil figure as well.

We instantly notified our school teachers and rushed him to the nearest clinic for treatment. We received a good lecturing from our teachers for wondering recklessly into unknown places; Gary received treatment and was having high fever the next day but recovered a few days later. Doctor says that a poisonous insect had bitten him and cause the swelling, but me and Jim knew that no insect would have fangs as wide as that, even if there was, the insect should be big, however Gary claims he did not see any insect during the time he was bitten... And why didn't he hear us call out his name loudly, we were virtually screaming at the top of our lungs!

That was the last treasure hunting expedition for us. After the incident, some of our 'hero' friends still continue going into the jungle clearing and although nothing happened to them, we are not taking our chances anymore...

Genting Highlands - Borned Spirits

Gentings Highlands, one of the most popular tourist locations in Malaysia. Located in the state of Pahang and resting at 2,000m above sea level, it offers a cool respite from Malaysia's bustling capital city. Many people head for Genting Highlands specifically for its nightlife at the renowed world-class Casino de Genting.

With all the excitement and happenings going around, one definitely will not know about the evil sinister that lurks within the place. The following story was told by a friend whose uncle used to work in Genting as a building maintenance worker.

Several years ago, before the opening of the casino and hotels in Genting Highlands was opened to the public, ten pregnant Vietnamese ladies were being brought to Genting Highlands to stay in a particular hotel. Witness confirmed that the pregnant ladies are roughly about 7-8 months pregnant and their bulging tummy are clearly visible. Each of them checked into different rooms and alternately switched into different rooms after some time. All housekeeping and food were being taken care discretely only by one Vietnamese man who had came with them and strictly no one else was allowed to witness or interfere with their activities.

A month later, the ten 'pregnant' ladies checked out of their respective rooms. Astonishingly, when they checked out, all the Vietnamese ladies look very slim and beautiful and none of them were carrying any babies. If was as if they were never pregnant before. In all the rooms that the ladies had stayed before, there was a special wind chime hanging at the window.

A few months later after the opening of the casino, a young man committed suicide in one of the rooms where a wind chime was placed. He had lost all his savings and company's money at the casino. Subsequently, after the suicide, many hotel staff and patrons had heard the sound of a child crying and seen a figure of a young man angrily running after a young child.

The workers were then told that the wind chimes are actually 'toys' for the ghost child that the Vietnames ladies had given birth to. These ghost child (toyol, gwei zhai) are child spirits that roam the hotels to 'invite' people staying there to visit the casino and gamble. It was rumoured that the man was one of the victims that was being persuaded by the child spirit to gamble his life savings away. His spirit cannot rest in peace and wants to take revenge on the ghost child.

The wind chimes were subsequently removed by the management after that. However, do becareful when you happen to check into a Genting hotel, who knows there may be some wind chimes that had been left out and not yet remove.....

Restless @ F15

A girl friend of mine forwarded me 2 pictures that was taken by her friend last few weeks. The picture was taken in Midvalley shopping complex; one of the most happening shopping centres in KL. You can see on the right side background that there is a picture of a white girl standing at Pillar F15 (click picture for a larger view).

Several reports and comments from the internet had indicated that the pictures are fake. Fake reports includes the 'ghost' casted a shadow; the 'ghost' cannot exist under lights, the 'ghost' looks too 'solid' etc. While some people believed that it is real and some even tried examining it under Photo Shop and could not find any 'con job', some believe that it is really a ghost.

There was even a story told by the security guards that a few years back, a car knocked down a girl at fast speed in the shopping mall late at night when there were not much cars around. The girl was playing with the trolley at the centre of the parking driveway while the parents were loading accessories into their car near column F15. It was a hit and run incident. And since then, several sightings of a girls playing around the area had been spotted. Could this be the spirit of the girl?

Be it real or a hoax. Please be respectful when you happen to be parking at the basement of MidValley shopping complex........

Blast From The Past?

Back in 2006, I went for a island trip with my ex-gf at Pulau Redang. It was a trip organise quite suddenly as I was working overseas during that time and my holidays are not very long. We went for our romantic trip during March and stayed at one of the beautiful resorts on the island (I shall not reveal the name but the resort does have SPA facilities).

Although I have not heard of anything spooky about the resort before we went there, but the big room that we had checked in does make me feel a bit uneasy. Furthermore, the balcony of the room overlooks the rainforest trees which cast a spooky shadow over the gloomy room. Anyway, we did not spend much time in the room and we had a great time outdoors snorkeling and island hopping. Due to lots of activity during the day, after dinner I was already asleep once my head touches the pillow.

IT wasn't until the final day of the trip when we are had already checked out and waiting for our boat back to mainland that my ex-gf told me about what happened in the room. Our package trip was a 3D2N package and on the 1st night, my ex-gf had apparently saw a dark silhoutte of a woman sitting at the edge of the bed. The woman was dress in an old style grey dress and has long hair. She sat quietly with her back facing us gently stroking her hair with a downcast expression. Scared, my ex-gf dare not scream nor cry out instead she just shut her eyes and mumble some prayers to sleep.

On the 2nd night something more dramatic occured as the spirit of the woman re-appear stroking her hair on the bed while I was fast asleep. Suddenly, my ex-gf witness another spirit of a man coming in through the door. The man had an angry look with unshaven beard. My ex-gf disclosed that as the spirit of the woman sat on the edge of the bed, the man came in through the door and started a commotion with the woman (my ex could not make out of what they were saying) and in a fit of rage the man brutally grabbed the woman by dragging her hair and started attacking her brutally.

That was when my ex-gf screamed out and the spirits vanished in an instant. Poor girl could not sleep for the whole night and as for me, I thought I heard my ex-gf scream out that night, but I virtually slept through the whole night. Coincidentally, the next day I had a high fever and was on medication for 1 week without seeing any 'bomoh', so that was probably due to the heaty, sumptous buffet dinner that I had at the resort, or is it caused by the spirits?

Was there a murder that had happened in that room before? Who is the man & who is the woman; are they jilted lovers? Or was it just the tired mind playing tricks?
